This is a specialty in dentistry dealing with :
> Diagnosis and medical management of diseases of the oral mucosa, teeth, jaws and the salivary glands.
> Medical management of oro-facial pain and temporomandibular joint disease.
> Dental management of medical compromised patients.
> Interpretation and evalution of radiographs, CT, MRI for diseases affecting head and neck region.

Where in the under graduate students are taught for diamnostic methods and treatment of dental & mucosal diorders. It is also involved in training the post graduate students for basic research methodologies having four post graduate student per year & overall working for the betterment of oral health of the patients.

Special areas of interest :
> Premalignancies, malignancies and pain disorders of oral mucosa.
> Salivary gland diseases.
> Sensory disorders of the oral cavity.
